
He had retired from State Spring Service after 41 ½ years of service and was an avid sportsman and gardener and spent many hours volunteering for the Dorr Park. Roger was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death are his parents; first wife Jean Sipkema, grandson; Johnnie Ong; sisters and brothers, Marie, Jeannie, Lyle, and Larry. Surviving are his wife, Carla; children, Rose Bussis, Randy and Belinda Miller, Chris and John Ong, Deb Stacy, Mike Miller and Carol, Todd and Sue Miller, Troy and Shelly Miller; 24 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Adel Thieman; brothers and sisters, Wayne Miller, Kim Schmidt, Jim and Ann Thieman, Clara Miller, Darlene Miller, Steve and Wilma VanHarn, and Ed and Margaret Sipkema; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dean Wheeler officiating. Interment will be a Dorr Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may meet Roger's family Thursday form 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th SW, Byron Center. Those unable to attend the visitation or funeral service may sign the family's Memory Book at www.cookfuneralservices.com.
Contributions in memory of Roger may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
