To a wonderful man; a great friend & neighbor; an awesome husband, father & grandfather; one who was always ready to sip a cup of coffee & talk about the days events; a dear man who loved & cared so much for his precious wife, Vicki; who was always ready & willing to share what all of their grandkids were excelling at; on & on it goes. Family was number one & he surely loved them. Dan & I are so blessed to have known Ron & Vicki for over 17 years as friends & neighbors. Never could keep up with Ron's immaculately groomed yard! Our country thanks you for serving to secure of Freedom. We will surely miss you Ron, but your legacy will live on forever. May God bless your family with peace that passes all understanding. My condolences to Vicki and family for Ron's passing. I know we hear this a lot for those who have lost loved ones to cancer. And this is not to be viewed as a clichAC....... But, Ron indeed fought the battle with cancer truly with courage and that's very admirable.I am also very mindful of the fact that Vicki did a tremendous job caring for Ron through those difficult years.those of us who knew Ron are going to miss him. We will continue to uphold the family in prayer.

I remember Ron as always being outside; whether it was working on his yard in the summer, raking leaves in the fall, plowing his drive-way in the winter or just having coffee with the neighbors. That always spoke to me of Ron's character - he was a hard worker, but always took time to enjoy what was around him.

Ron and I were in the same homeroom at Catholic Central - room assignments were by alphabet - so I was lucky to know him based on the T and the Z. I cannot believe how the time has passed, and while Ron and I did not stay in touch (I moved to NJ shortly after graduating college), I remember Ron well from our days at CC. I am also so pleased to read about the commitment he has made to his family and to his country. Ron clearly is a depiction of a 'Role Model' My best wishes to his wife and family - he was a great guy in 1962 and he is a great guy in 2014.

When I first moved to Grand Rapids I played hockey with Ron at East Kentwood. Hockey, the Pump House and singing limericks. Just makes me smile. Aquinas homecoming was a great place to meet old friends.

I was truly blessed to have worked with Ron at tesa tape. I will always remember the very first joke he ever told me, and I continue to pass it on to others. I'm so sad to hear of his passing, and my prayers go out to all his family and friends during this difficult time.

We only knew Mr. Tryc thru HAWK hockey. He was adamant about seeing his grandson Lukas play and boy did he have a huge smile on his face when Lukas was on the ice. Always warmed my heart to see such pride, joy and love for his family. Our thoughts are with all of you and we hope you'll find ways to celebrate what a wonderful man he was and the influence he's had on your lives!!
