Rosalie Josephine Baird

Rosalie Josephine Baird, age 91, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 28, 2026. Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Benjamin L. Baird; son, Darcy L. Baird; grandson, Brian Michael Groeneweg; and great-grandson, Andrew Benjamin Baird.

To mourn their dear mother are her children Laurie (David) VanderZee, Teresa (Eric) Pratt, Michelle Baird, Bonnie (Ronald) Kopp, Douglas (Beth) Baird, Lisa (Kenneth) Karafa, Cheryl (David) Hand. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Maryellen Racine and Lucinda Flach, and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosalie was an extremely intelligent woman, a lifelong learner, and an avid reader. She was always abreast of current events and loved to discuss them with anyone willing to do so.

Rosalie loved her family deeply and was quick to put their needs above her own. She loved gardening and would surround her home with a myriad of flowers of all colors. She loved her time volunteering for her church and did so until she was taken away to care for her husband. One of her greatest pleasures was preparing and hosting giant Christmas parties for her family.

She will be remembered for her humility, inner strength, and her deep faith.

Funeral Mass in her honor is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
