Rosalie Grace Newhouse

NEWHOUSE - Rosalie Grace Newhouse, age 81, of Grandville, Michigan passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 3, 2016, following a two month battle with cancer. After growing up on a dairy farm near Holland, she met and married Dale R. Newhouse. Together, for more than 60 years, they enjoyed life to its fullest. Rosalie worked for 35 years as an LPN at Blodgett Outpatient Clinic. She was an “organizer” and after retirement, enjoyed volunteering at “Nice Twice” in Grandville. She and Dale loved to travel and spent the last 15 winters in Bradenton, Florida, at the Golf Lakes Estate Park. Rosalie was a person of faith who loved her family and was very proud of them. She was a strong, caring, compassionate person who had a heart for serving her Lord, her family and others.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Julia Boeve, her brother Rolland Boeve, and granddaughter Aubrey Kutsche.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dale R. Newhouse, daughters Debra and John Meppelink (Aaron and Kyle), Diana and Jack Brandt (Justin and Amanda, Julia, Jacob), Dawn and Carl A. Kutsche (Elyse, Austen, Olivia, Christian), and Denise and Ryan Poortenga (Grace and Lydia), bonus daughter Sara and Jeremy Huffman (Noah, Dylan, Addisen); four great grandchildren Landen, Paul, Hunter and Isabella; siblings Clarissa Steggerda, Verna Van Rhee, Lloyd Boeve, Earl and Nancy Boeve, Calvin and Connie Boeve, Spencer and Marilyn Boeve, and Beth Boeve; brother-in-law Don and Laurie Newhouse; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7 at Faith Reformed Church, 618 – 32nd Street, Wyoming, with Rev. Bruce Osbeck officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), Grandville.
