Sandra L. Harnish

Cancer conquered her body, but her spirit remained intact. Sandra was a member of St. Pius X Altar Rosary Society and the Old Speckled Hens.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elma Brown, sister, Janet Buist and her brother, Richard Brown. Surviving are her husband, David; children, Karen and Richard Millward of Wyoming, Jeremy and Kristin Harnish of Ionia, and Adam and Cristina Harnish of Byron Center; grandchildren, Samantha, Hailey, Bryce, Margaret, Abigail, Alexander, BreAnna and Austin; father, Harry Brown of Watson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Genevieve Harnish of Wayland; brother Robert Angeline Brown of Watson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Luke Cheryl Harnish of Montana, Peter Harnish of Iowa, Eric Harnish of Wayland, Theresa James Loomis of Portage, Claudia Rodney Cheyne of Grand Ledge, Laura Jake Rewa of Tennessee, Gloria Bob Meendering of Hopkins, Jack Ev Buist of Wayland, Gwen John Meisenbach Harnish also of Wayland; and many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29 from St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave SW in Grandville.

Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Watson Township.

Relatives and friends may meet Sandra’s family on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home west building 4235 Prairie St. SW in Grandville, and on Tuesday at St. Pius X from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.

A Vigil Service will be held on Monday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Contributions in memory of Sandra may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Grandville Ambucs Hospital Equipment Fund or Hospice of Michigan.

Sandra’s family expresses a special thanks to all of her caregivers and friends whose prayers nourished her soul and whose food nourished her body.
