I dated Shawn for a short period of time in high school, it was actualy too short, He was a woderfull person and friend, He got me to stop hating myself, and helped me through a terrable time in my life. I had been looking for him for the last 5 years, only to find him too late. I'll never forget him and what he did for me. My condolences to his family and friends.

Our son, Brian, served with Shawn in Delta Company. We want to extend our heartfelt condolences for your loss. You can only take comfort in knowing that Shawn died doing what he wanted to do and that was preserve our way of life. For that, we ARE grateful. We will keep you always in our prayers.

With these few words I wanted to express to the family of Shawn how deeply touched I have been by his death. While I did not know Shawn, I think I know the kind of soldier he was - proud, diligent, purposeful, patriotic, and committed. As a retiree with 26 years in the Army, it is an honor to have worn the same uniform and served the same nation that he so bravely served. I am humbled by the great sacrifice he made in the cause of freedom and on behalf of our great nation. May God in his infinite mercy take his spirit and give him and his family peace for ever. God bless this young man and God bless his beautiful family. Please know that a stranger does care and sends sincere condolences on his untimely death.
