

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Guy Jr.; parents Andrew Peter and Violet Marie Marek; brother, Bob Marek; and son-in-law, Mike Heemstra.
She will be lovingly missed by her children Kathy (Bob) Klinesteker, Tom (Toni) Guy, Mike Guy, Rosemarie Walters, and Lori Heemstra; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Shirley retired from Michigan Kenworth. She was a 4H leader, judge at the county fair, avid bowler and water skier who enjoyed fishing and camping. Shirley liked to garden and travel throughout the United States (e.g., Florida, California) and overseas to France. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was the “best Mom ever.”
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, with an hour of visitation prior to the service, at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 - 84th Street, S.W., Byron Center, MI 49315. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In honor of Shirley and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
