Stephen Anthony Barnard, age 51 of Hudsonville, MI, was born March 3, 1970 and passed Monday, October 25, 2021. Steve has ended his courageous 29-year battle with quadriplegia due to a drunk driver. He can now be found hunting, fishing, attending car races, or dining at a fine celestial restaurant. Steve is free at last, having walked into the arms of Jesus. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Sack, and Stephen H. and Helen Barnard. He will be greatly missed by his loyal brother, Jeff (Megan) Barnard, who cared for him over the many years of his battle. Steve is also survived by his parents Steve and Mary Ellen Barnard; uncles Tony (Ruth) Sack and Richard Barnard; nephews Robert Barnard, Glenn Mitchell, and Daniel Clum; niece, Samantha (Brian) Barnes; great-niece, Eloise Barnes and great-nephew, Wesley Barnes; and many good friends.
Steve’s request to be a tissue donor was honored. Those planning any expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, P.O. Box 016960, Miami, FL 33101. A private family service was held in Steve’s honor. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery.
