

CONRAD Mr. Ted Raymond Conrad, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 8, 2014. During his 4 years of service with the US Air Force, Ted participated in ground floor work with the Missile Program at Alamogordo Sands Proving Grounds, NM. As co-owner of Conrad Patterson Food Brokerage, he sponsored and was actively involved with the Conrad Patterson Softball Team - perennial state champs - which culminated with his induction into the Michigan Softball Hall of Fame. Ted coached youth baseball and football for many years in addition to starting the Calvin Christian Football program. He will also be remembered for 42 years of ministry as the lead singer with the Heralders Quartet and his 9 years of faithful service as Church Administrator at Newhall Community Church. He was born April 16, 1931 to Kenneth and Grace (Garbrick) Conrad. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chad Veenendall, and his brothers, and sister.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Conrad; children, Pam (Larry) Thomas, Ted (Sandra) Conrad Jr., Rick (Loie) Conrad, Suzanne (Craig) Van Assen, Nanette (Tim) Heavner, Brad (Linda) Conrad, Sharron (Collin) Ballard; grandchildren, Marci (Jeff) Clay, Ted (Jill) Conrad III, Jennifer Conrad (Mike Holst), Kate (Tim) Bruinsma, Erin (Ryan) Fischer, Stephanie (Doug) Jacobi, Nicholas (Lindsey) Conrad, Troy (Stephanie) Conrad, Jason (Brooke) Van Assen, Kara (Ross) Poll, Deena (Jeff) Vroegindewey, Mandi (Joe) McDuffee, Rickie (Sarah) Thurkettle, Matthew Thurkettle, Andrew Schrotenboer (Kassidy Martinez), Blake Schrotenboer, Jaimee, Ashley, and Colson Conrad, Donnie Ballard (Veronica Blattner), and Kayla Ballard; 32 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 AM at Newhall Community Church, 3647 Byron Center St. SW, Wyoming, with Pastors Dan Kroeze and Tom Bos officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Ted's family Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Sunday from 3-5 PM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville.
