Born in Bogalusa, LA, Tom and Dorothy resided in Wyoming for the past 19 years.
Tom will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 35 years Dorothy; children, Rick and Carol Slocum, Sue and Bob Ellis, Jeanne and Scott McKenzie, David and Carol Slocum, Mark and Susan Slocum, Dottie Sluiter, and Kathi and Bill Rettler; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Tom served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. for twenty-three years, retiring as Sergeant Major.
He distinguished himself by serving in WWII and the Korean War with many honors including the Purple Heart, Asiatic Campaign, and Pacific Campaign.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel 4235 Prairie SW - east building.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville west building.
Memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to Hospice of Holland Home.
