I got the honor and privilege of sitting right beside her and holding her hand, while she took her last breath. I knew the moment that she stepped into heaven and I smiled as I knew she was with my Grandpa again. She has never been so happy. I love her so very much and took care of her every need until the very end. I never left her side and wouldn't have been anywhere else. She told me that she was ready and I told her that I couldn't be selfish by begging her to stay with us. I told her she could let go and within moments, she met God! I am so glad that I had so many years with such a wonderful, caring woman, and know that she no longer has to suffer or deal with any kind of pain anymore. As time passes, I know the pain I feel will get better, but my heart is aching for her right now. I miss her so much!

I remember Vi as being a fun loving person who made the best baked goods. She had a lift in her step and was always smiling. She will be missed.

We have good memories of Leonard & Vione at the Ionia Church of the Nazarene from 1983-1991. They were very focused and dedicated leaders in the church. Vione was very active in the missions program and they went on Work & Witness trips often. When they couldn't go themselves, they would find out what was needed on that mission field and do what they could to provide that need. (I remember making curtains for a District Center in Venezuela - Vione provided the bolt of fabric and gave me the information of the window sizes---Brenda).

Grandma was loved by many people throughout her life. As I was blessed to call her grandma, so were many others in our big family. I remember many Christmases when I was younger going to Grandpa & Grandma's house on Xmas Eve and seeing family that I didn't get to see that often growing up. They always welcomed everyone into their home and lives with open arms which was one reason giving back and doing mission work was such a joy for both of them. I have many wonderful memories I'll cherish of both my grandparents. I'm so glad they can be reunited. They were both special and will forever be missed but not forgotten by everyone who knew them.

Vione was one of the most caring person I have ever known. She was faithful to her church and to her God. Way to many wonderful memories to list. I am thankful for her friendship and will meet her again .

I am thankful to have met Vi and to care for her for a short time. I feel that she was put in my life for a reason even though it was not long term. Traci I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful person she was! You were a very lucky person. I am saddened by her death but I know she is in a very peaceful place smiling and laughing!

I will always remember how special Grandma & Grandpa made me feel when they took me to their church and shared that with me. I learned to swim in their pool. The house was so beautiful at Christmas and full of family. Time and circumstance meant we early saw each other but she was always in my thoughts. Be at peace.

We were missionaries in Venezuela when Vi, as we called her, and Leonard came to help in work projects...not just once but over and over again. There was something magnetic about her that bound our hearts together! May we be more like Jesus as we imitate the life of this dear friend.
