

Virginia is preceded in death by her devoted husband Gordon Deters; her brother and sister-in-law Jay and Lorraine Ohlman; sisters-in-law Mary Ohlman and Doris Vander Laan and brothers-in-law Harold Vander Laan, Gerald Bushen and Richard DeBruyn.
Virginia is survived by her children Greg Deters, Valerie Barber, Faith (Dennis) Bergakker and Karla (Mark) Grasmeyer; grandchildren Ian Deters, Anne (Joe) Barber Nunez, Kurt (Jessica) Barber, Eric Barber, Sara Bergakker, Lee (Becky) Bergakker, Abigail Bergakker, Alex (Nicole) Grasmeyer, Kevin (Amanda) Grasmeyer and Jenna (Joshua) Holwerda; great-granddaughters Marion, Amelia and Makenna. Also surviving are her brother Vernon Ohlman; sisters-in-law June Bushen and Joyce DeBruyn; and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia enjoyed many years of volunteer service at Butterworth Hospital and Right to Life of Holland. She loved to travel the states and the world. She was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church in Hudsonville, MI.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, MI. Her family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
