

He was born March 23, 1950 in Van Wert, OH to Burns and Helen Griffis who are both deceased. January 13, 1973 he was united in marriage to his loving wife of 43 years, Susan.
He is survived by his son Patrick (Jun Pan) Griffis, and daughter Heather (Brandon) Terrill. Also surviving are grandsons Alexander, Zipan and future granddaughter Helen; sister Paula (David) Alderfer, brother Hugh (Anita) Griffis; sisters-in-law Beckie (Steve) Vaniman, Mary Ann (Tony) Romaker, Barbara Seffernick; brothers-in-law Thomas (Sharon) Seffernick, Dennis (Jan) Seffernick, Stephen Seffernick, Michael (Kathleen) Seffernick, Joseph Seffernick, Lewis (Sue) Seffernick. Deceased brother-in-law Alfred Seffernick; sisters-in-law Betty Seffernick and Linda Seffernick.
Wade graduated in 1972 from Indiana Tech, Ft Wayne, IN and was an alumnus of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He retired from BASF in 1999 after 27 years as a research chemist and quality control Lab Manager; the Jenison Public Schools Transportation Department in 2012; and the Home Depot in 2014.
Wade’s loves were his family, HO scale model railroading, OSU football and the Yankees. He had a large extended family and everyone he met became a part of it. Wade will be greatly missed and treasured.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building) 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, MI. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 with visitation one hour prior to service at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building). Pastor Gary Leyendecker will be officiating. Interment will be at Blue Creek Cemetery in Ohio.
In honor of Wade, contributions may be made to the Home Depot HOMER Fund or Faith Hospice.
