To the Newkirk Family:
A still vivid memory of mine was attending Betty and Warren’s wedding in 1946, when I was just 10 years old. It was the very first wedding I ever attended; I blushed when the bride and groom kissed at
the altar! I was there because my maternal grandmother was Letitia Newkirk, Warren senior’s sister in law,; she was married to Frederick Newkirk, who died in his 40’s from pneumonia.  He and Letitia had 2 daughters, Helen, my mother, and Doris. It saddens me that our family’s lost touch. As a youth I saw quite a bit of Aunt Lena nd uncle Warren, as we all lived in Pompton Plains. NJ Betty and Warren were married in the Dutch Reformed Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ  I think they settled in Michigan shortly after their wedding, as I never saw them again. I am sorry for your loss of parents and grandparents. If you are interested in hearing more about your NJ relatives, just let me know.
