of March 7, 2022, at the age of 81. Survived by his beloved wife, Marion E. Haight; son, Dirk A. Haight; daughters (and spouses) Ami (Tom) Giusti, Suzanne (Scott) Bosgraaf, Kristine (Patrick) Brady; six grandchildren Alexandria and Anthony Giusti, Christopher (Brittany) and Danielle Bosgraaf, Elle and Madeline Brady; brother, Thomas B. (Karen) Haight. He was preceded in death by his parents William W. Sr. and Pauline J. Haight and brother, Phillip G. (Judith) Haight.
Bill’s fondest childhood memories and what he attributed his deep love for family and strong work ethic to was spending his summers working and living on his grandparents' dairy farm (Buth Dairy). He then joined the army at a young age, where he received honors and gained a deep and everlasting love for his country.
Bill was a faithful follower of Christ and loved going to church. He possessed a genuine love and appreciation for the Grand Rapids Symphony, fine arts, and history. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, family dinners, attending high school basketball/football games, and looked forward to riding his John Deere. An entrepreneur at heart, he owned and operated William’s Cars Inc. for over 50 years and gained
a passion for home building along with commercial real estate development. His warm, sweet spirit will be missed but will continue living in the hearts and lives of those he knew and loved so dearly. In recent years and amidst various health battles, Bill was ready and at peace with meeting his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
