William R. Shockey

SHOCKEY, William R. Shockey Jr., age 54 of Jenison, passed away, Sunday, December 17, 2006 after a 2 year battle with leukemia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Shockey, mother-in-law Gertrude Krol and brother-in-law Robert Krol.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lois; his daughter Lisa Kurt Schenk of Lowell; his father William Connie Shockey Sr. of Florida; his brothers and sisters, John Darlene Shockey of Ohio, Sandy Shockey of Allendale, Donna Van Yielding of Georgia, David Alishia Shockey of Georgia, step-brother Steve Lampson of Eaton Rapids, step-sisters Renee Patrick DuBois of Texas and Michelle Paul Nicholas of California; father-in-law Robert Krol of Jenison; special cousin Susie; and many extend family and dear friends.

Bill had worked for West Michigan Sprinkling for over 20 years, and more recently with Eclipse Energy Systems. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Funeral service will be held 1 pm Thursday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, east building 4235 Prairie St. SW, the family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, west building. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation.
