
He was raised on the family farm in Isabel South Dakota as one of the youngest of 10 children.
He attended college in Chillicothe, Missouri, where he met his wife, Darlene, while in line to see a movie on Halloween night. They were married less than a year later on October 26. Their marriage lasted for 70 years. His wife past away Feb 2022.
Clarence joined the Air Force May 14, 1952 and served until Feb 2, 1956. He served his tour of duty in Okinawa as administrator for the Base Commander. He had the rank of Staff Sergeant when he received an Honorable Discharge.
As a civilian he worked in accounting, HR, administration, and customer service. He worked with his sister for a few years in a Wedding Catering business. He had gift for decorating and design.
In retirement he had a passion for woodworking. He mainly made custom, quality pieces for family and friends. During the year he would make wooden cars and trucks out of scrap wood. These where donated to the Marines Toys for Tots at Christmas time.
He is survived by three of his children, Paul and spouse Carol, David, Marie and spouse Tom. Daughter Jayne passed away Jan 2022. Clarence has numerous grand children and great grand children.
Clarence lived the last few years of his life in assisted living where he made many good friends and had a very positive impact on many people s lives. Clarence passed away peacefully in his home on September 26, 2025.
Clarence was a devoted, loving husband, father, brother and friend, and he will be greatly missed
