

Glen Richard Erps passed away May 17, 2023 at the age of 94; he was 19 days from his 95th birthday. Glen was born in Fairview, N.D., the third of four sons. He worked alongside his brothers on the family farm during the depression and the Country's entry into WWII.
In 1946, after graduating from high school, Glen joined the army to become an auto mechanic. He served in Europe for 18 months. Soon after his honorable discharge, the conflict in Korea had escalated and he was drafted back into the Army and sent back to Europe.
On June 2, 1956, after completing this military duties, Glen married Carolyn Joy Gleason. The lived awhile in Sidney, Montana, but eventually moved to Ventura, CA. They had 5 children; David, Randell, Clay, Londa and Tracy. They also had 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Not long after the 25 year marriage ended with divorce, Glen married Betty Jean Harper (Webb) on Dec. 26, 1982.
They were together for 32 years and lived in Grants Pass, Oregon until her untimely death on Sept. 27, 2016.
Betty had 4 children; Tim, Teresa, Stephanie and Barbara. They had 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Glen became "Papa" and accepted them "as his own."
A few years after the death of his wife Betty, Glen, a the age of 92 decided to move to Jackson County, Tennessee to be near his two eldest sons.
Randell became the primary caregiver until his death. He passed quietly, with his two sons by his side.
Glen enjoyed working and camping. He wasn't a great man by the measure of the world, but his was a good man who accomplished great things in the eyes of all who knew him. Glen R. Erps will be remembered as the man who "set the example."
