A middle child of four, he was born June 25, 1953 in Los Angeles, CA to Walter and Seville “Madelyn” Smith. Active in sports and music, he graduated from North Torrance High School and attended El Camino Junior College, studying Business Administration.
After moving to Colorado, he started his career as a finance manager in the automobile industry. When not working, he loved pursuing his interests including playing his saxophone, racing motorcycles, skiing, golf, Scoutmaster, playing cribbage, and spending time and sharing these interests with his children.
He moved to Grants Pass in 2016 and quickly found a home in the golfing community at Applegate River Golf Club. He also played cribbage as often as he could with the Caveman Peggers.
Survivors include his three children, Lindsey (Donovan Lorenzen) Smith, Kyle Smith, Paige (Cory) Weis; one grandson, River Lorenzen; his father, Walter Smith, his siblings, Charles Smith, Karen Carns, and Barry Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Madelyn
He leaves behind a broken-hearted family and will be greatly missed.
