Alan is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Paula, their beloved son Jonathan, his wife Cami, and their children: John, Brayden, and Ashlyn of Roanoke, Texas. Also surviving him are Alan’s brother, Gary Johndrow, Gary’s daughter Tammy and son Donald, sister-in-law Teresa Heck, niece Amy Heck, as well as his aunt Doby Johndrow and numerous cousins.
Alan attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma. He was proud to serve his country as an Army medic in Vietnam; and, later as a member of the Oklahoma National Guard. He worked in sales and the corporate photography field, retiring when the family moved to Texas.
Alan will be remembered for his sense of humor, his interest in cars and especially his love of the game of pool. Prior to the COVID quarantine, he hosted weekly pool games with several of his fellow pool enthusiasts. Alan was very outgoing and loved to talk.
He specifically requested there be no funeral. The family plans to have a gathering in the fall when his ashes are interred.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting any donations be made to either Roanoke Food Pantry or Wounded Warrior Project.
