Alma Nell Waterman

Alma Nell Waterman, age 81, of Coppell, TX passed away on April 11, 2022. Alma was born May 15, 1940 in Hermleigh, TX to Tom and Vera Hillis. She was a 1958 graduate of Hermleigh High School and attended Texas Tech University. Alma married Jim Waterman September 2, 1960 in Camp Springs, TX. His work had them relocate several times including to Altus, OK, England, Houston, Dallas, Cleveland, and Rochester, NY.

She was a successful realtor and broker for 30 years. She delivered Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing. One of her joys was shopping, especially for clothes at Lord & Taylor and for shoes anywhere. She was never late, she just lived on Alma time.

Alma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughter Rhea (Rob) Phelan, son Warren (Cynthia) Waterman, grandchildren Bobby (Mandie) Phelan, Billy (Anna) Phelan, Owen Waterman, Kyra Waterman, Hope Waterman, great-grandchildren Natalia Phelan, Robbie Phelan, and sister Fern (Bill) Butler.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Mary Ellen Hillis, Betty (Don) Moore, and brother T.J. (Nancy) Hillis, Jr.

Memorial Service: Grapevine, TX on April 18, 2022, with later interment in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
