Betty Ann Mullinix was born on May 4, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Iva and John Mason. She went on to graduate from Wellston High School in 1946, where she earned the lead role in her school’s musical, “Oklahoma!” On October 19, 1946, Betty married the love of her life, Larry Mullinix. She ran the payroll department of a St. Louis company for two years until she and Larry welcomed their first child, a son, into the world. Over the next eight years, three daughters were born into their family. They went on to live in St. Louis, MO, Detroit, MI, Oklahoma City, OK, Deerfield, IL, Dallas, TX, and San Antonio, TX. After the passing of her husband, Betty moved to Trophy Club, TX, to live with her daughter, Denise.
Betty enjoyed travelling with her husband and friends, and she loved volunteering at a local Dallas elementary school. In her later years, she liked to pass the time by doing puzzles, watching game shows, and watching sports (particularly football, horse racing, golf, and car racing). She loved mysteries, music and musical theater, all animals (especially cats), crème brûlée, and filet mignon. Above all, she loved her family. She believed her greatest accomplishment of all was raising three strong, independent women, who also loved and cherished her very much.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 2:00 pm, followed by a Reception, at JE Foust and Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051.
At a later date, a private family graveside service will be held where Betty will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Magnolia Hospice.
