Bruce Louden passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Saturday, February 10, 2018, in Southlake, Texas, at approximately 5:43 p.m. with both hands held by his wife and daughter.
He was born August 23, 1940 to Lester Lee Louden and Nena De Palma Louden in Los Angeles, California. Soon after graduating from Hollywood High School and completing college courses, he joined the United States Navy and was stationed at the US Naval Base in Kami Seya, Japan. It was there that he met his wife, Chisato Habaya Louden, as she worked in the Administration Office on the Naval Base. Both he and his wife raised two daughters, Catherine Louden and Leslie L. Louden in Los Angeles where he lived until exactly one year prior to his death – when he moved with his wife to Southlake, Texas to live with his youngest daughter’s family.
Bruce was the type of man who was able to enjoy life to the fullest with no regrets. He enjoyed playing golf, coaching basketballl, watching sports and traveling to Pismo Beach (a family favorite vacation spot to this day). To know Bruce was to love him, he was the funniest most unique person you’d ever meet who was very outspoken and loved to talk. When he left the Navy and moved back to California, he became a salesman for Lawson Products and then started his own business. He was the quintessential salesmand and he will always be remembered for that positive loving spirit who could really work a room.
“Don’t look worried. Start off with a couple of good stories to lighten things up. It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it – because personality always wins the day.” Arthur Miller – “Death of a Salesman”.
Survivors include his wife Chisato; his youngest daughter, Leslie L Louden; three grandchilren Harrison, Madeline and Charlie; one brother Lester Louden (Jr.); as well as several wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A time of gathering will be held in Grapevine, Texas, and burial services will be held at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills in Glendale, California in March 2018.
