

GRAPEVINE -- Carmen (Al) Louis Capone, 84, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Keller Oaks Healthcare Center in Keller, TX after a long battle with Parkinson's and other complications.
Funeral Services will be commence at ten o'clock Monday morning in the chapel of J.E. Foust and Son Funeral Home in downtown Grapevine, Texas. The family will receive friends from two until four Sunday afternoon in the parlour at the funeral home. Mr. Capone will be laid to rest in Grapevine Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
Al was born in New Haven, CT on September 20, 1931 to Louis and Antoinette Sega Capone. He graduated from Boardman Trade School and shortly after joined the Air Force. He served for 21 years as an X-Ray Technologist and received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Radiology from William Carey College along the way. After retiring, he continued his work as a X-Ray Technologist in the private sector until he retired again in 1991.
Before joining the Air Force, Al went to work for a Chevrolet dealership at $.75 an hour, but in less than a year, he was earning $1.25 an hour. That was very good money for 1950, and it enabled him to purchase his first car, a 1946 Chevrolet Club Coup. It was a fine car, and he hated to sell it when he went into the service. Before he purchased the car, he rode the bus or trolley car and was able to purchase tokens for $.25.
Al retired in Biloxi, MS and served as an active deacon at the First Baptist Church Biloxi. Wherever Al was stationed he was active in the church and always served as deacon and helped with many more ministries within the church.
Al and Jenney moved to Grapevine, TX in 1994. He continued his services for the Lord at First Baptist Church Grapevine where he was an active deacon and member until he could no longer attend. Throughout his life he faithfully tithed 10% to the church.
Al is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Antoinette Capone, a brother John Capone, and his daughters, Pat Gerretse and Cynthia Lawrence.
Al is survived by his loving wife Virginia (Jenny) Capone his wife of 59 years; his sister Marie Panosky, his brother James Capone, his daughter Rebecca Bull, his son, Louis Capone, 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and many cousins.
