Charles Edward Neal a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and friend who showed the love of God to everyone he met, went home to be with Jesus on January 5, 2026. He loved his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart and dedicated his life to reading the Word of God, praying for others, and walking in love.
Born on December 11, 1948, in Gilmer, Texas, to Roland and Major Ree Neal, Charles lived his life with quiet strength, humble leadership, and unwavering trust in God. His faith was not merely spoken, it was lived in every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every sacrifice made for those he loved, especially his daughters whom he raised by himself from ages four and five. He built his home on the foundation of Christ, and his family was blessed by the steadfast love that flowed from his relationship with the Lord.
As a husband, he faithfully walked beside his beloved wife Londa Neal, demonstrating devotion, gentleness, and partnership rooted in grace. As a father, he guided his children with patience, wisdom, and prayer, teaching them to love God and others through both his words and his example. As a grandfather, his joy was immeasurable and he delighted in every moment, offering stories, laughter, and a legacy of faith to the next generation.
Charles served wholeheartedly at his local church, always ready to lend a helping hand, uplift a friend, or meet a need quietly and without fanfare. His life reflected the heart of Jesus in countless small, faithful acts that touched more people than he ever realized. He loved his City of Grapevine, where he worked for 23 years, and the many co-workers and friends whom he considered family. He prayed daily for the leaders of the City of Grapevine.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Londa; his daughters, Janet (and her husband, Chasten), Angelica (and her husband, Edward), and Cassandra (and her husband, Michael); seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his teachings, his prayers, and his love in their hearts. His influence lives on not only in his family but in everyone blessed to walk beside him. He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn and was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harold, and his sister Ann.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau, Grand Hall, 636 S Main Street, Grapevine, TX 76051. A private family viewing will be held from 1:00-1:30pm, followed by the Homegoing Service beginning at 2:00pm. The family invites all who knew him to join in honoring a man whose life testified to God’s goodness.
Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice that his faith that he had here on earth is now sight and he heard the words he longed to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
