Dan Campbell, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home near Dallas, TX from cancer. Dan attended Nativity Catholic School and Manual Arts High School, graduating in 1950. As a teen he loved his job selling newspapers on the corner of Slauson and Vermont. He attended LA City College until drafted by the U. S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. After his service, he worked for S&H Green Stamps, then for Cole of California, retiring from Cole after 26 years. He was passionate about helping others; after retirement he volunteered for the Garden Grove Police Department, for St. Columban Catholic Church as an usher, and delivered Meals on Wheels. He lived at the same address in Garden Grove, CA for over 50 years. His neighborhood and neighbors were an important part of his life. He loved the beach, smoking his pipe, and all sports, but baseball the most, and especially the Angels.
