Dennis Ray Bertwell

Dennis Ray Bertwell, age 68, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 17, 1949 in Cushing, Ok to Valeta Jane Hunter and the late Frank Bertwell. He attended Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa, OK and was a graduate of Northeastern State University with a Business Management Degree. He proudly served 6 years in the Army National Guard. Dennis worked for various companies throughout his career including Hertz-Penske, Associates, GE and Citigroup. During those career years he transferred to several locations including Jacksonville, FL, Tulsa, OK, Boston, MA, and finally to the DFW area. He was awarded the “Top Achiever” award in sales 7 years in a row. Dennis served as an Elder in the First Christian Church of the Beaches in Neptune Beach, FL and taught adult Sunday School for 18 years.

He is preceded in death by his father Frank Bertwell and his sister Peggy Jane Bertwell, who passed away at the age of 16.

Surviving Dennis is his mother Valeta Jane Hunter, wife Patti Bertwell, Children Peggy Williams and Russell Bertwell and grandchildren Petra Williams and Priya Williams.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 1-4pm at Foust and Son Funeral Home in Grapevine. A reception will take place during this event.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Dennis’ name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
