Mrs. Ella Mae Horne

Ella Mae Hickman Horne, 92 of Bedford, TX, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 13, 2020 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Rev. Paul A. Horne, Sr.

Due to Covid 19, a graveside service was held in St. Mary's Chapel, St. Vincent's Anglican Cathedral in Bedford, TX on September 25, 2020. It would have been Ella Mae's 93rd birthday.

Ella Mae was born September 25, 1927 in Covington, VA. She was a graduate of Erskine College, Due West, South Carolina. She taught in public and private schools in North Carolina and Virginia for over 35 years. Ella Mae was a Sunday school teacher, teaching all ages and a choir director and organist in many of the churches where her husband, Paul, was a Presbyterian minister. She was a member of Grapevine First Presbyterian Church in Grapevine, TX and active in the Presbyterian Women. She truly loved the Lord Jesus!

Ella Mae loved sewing, cooking, gardening and traveling! She and Paul traveled to all 50 states and all of the Canadian Provinces in their camper! She loved shoes and pretty clothes and always dressed "to the nines. "She was a true fashionista!!

Ella Mae is survived by daughter, Kathryn McGee and John of Grapevine, TX; son, Paul Adams Horne, Jr. and Michelle of Rock Hill, SC; grandson, Paul Adams Horne III of Springfield, IL; granddaughter, Mary Catherine Horne of New York, NY; and sister Rachel Spencer of Statesville, NC
