Jay was born on November 8, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Jerome and Stella Michalski.
Jay graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit.
He was married on May 31, 1974 to Roxanne (Olinzock) Michalski, his wife of 45 years.
Jay's career in Human Resources spanned 29 years at Ford Motor Company, where he retired in 2007. After retiring he worked four years at DART as the Labor Relations Director.
His passion for family was immeasurable. He also loved Texas Ranger's baseball, music, theater, travel, Hawaiian shirts, his two dachshunds and storytelling!
He is preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Stella Michalski, two grandsons Benjamin Couey and Patrick Maggio. He is survived by his wife Roxanne, two daughters and son-in-laws - Lauren Couey (Jeremy) of Franklin, MA; Mallory Maggio (Michael) of Edmond, OK, three granddaughters - Avery Couey (10), Hannah Maggio (7) and Abigail Maggio (2). He is also survived by his sister Barbara Bliznik and brother-in-law Frank, father-in-law Thomas Olinzock, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Thomas and Donna Olinzock and sister-in-law Lisa Fox. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
