

He is survived by his wife Barbara Fenley; children Andy Fenley and his wife Megan Beck, Laura Patrizi and her husband Robert; grandchildren Sylvie and Rhett Fenley, Clara and Evan Patrizi; siblings Don Fenley, and step siblings Cathy Chavarria, James Fenley, Cinthia Fenley, and Carl Fenley; niece Troy Walter and nephew Tony Trevino, as well as numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Claude Fenley and Lou Rilda Bradford, sister Claudia Salinas, and niece Lesley Trevino.
John enlisted in the U.S. Army in the November of 1965 at the age of 17. He served in the Vietnam War until May 1969 and obtained his GED in 1968 during his service. Upon completion of his tenure in Vietnam, he was transferred to Fort Meyer, Virginia and ended his assignment in the USASTRATCOM Pentagon Telecom Center in Washington, D.C. After his discharge from the army, he began a successful career in data processing and advanced into the telecommunications industry.
Some of John’s most notable accomplishments were his military service where he obtained a National Defense Service Medal VSM RVNCM, and serving in the Counter Offensive Ph II and III. He was also a devoted volunteer for the Caring Hearts program at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine, Texas where he also served various positions on the board of volunteers.
He was an avid golfer, he greatly enjoyed cooking, and he was also a wine enthusiast. He loved to travel the world, but more importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends. He was a patriot who loved his country, and he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
