Our mother was born on October 10, 1946, in Idabel Oklahoma to Norwood and Dolores Doss. She grew up in Oklahoma City where she met our dad, Fred Jones, at a local skating rink. They married on August 22, 1961, and in 1964 eventually settle in Texas where they raised their family. They had been married for 45 years.
She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown and then worked in corporate tax law until she retired.
Some of our endearing memories of our mom, is her unending love for Jesus, watching her play the piano and singing gospel songs and old hymns. Our family would tease her endlessly about her love for all things Elvis Presley. She’d played his music and the music from her generation loud on the record player while dancing with us in the living room. This made us chuckle and occasionally roll our eyes with a grin. Another memory our family cherishes is playing “Moon” (a domino game) that we continue to play to this day when we gather as a family. In the later years of marriage, mom loved traveling with dad. Mostly though, mom enjoyed her time spent with her family.
Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband and our dad, Fred Jones, her mother, Dolores Egleston, her father, Norwood McCombs, her sisters, Pat Wilson and Martha Wallace, and her brother, Phil Doss.
Mom is survived by her four children, son, Marvin Jones and daughter-in-law Stacy Jones, daughter, Krista Love and son-in-law Roy Eugene Love, daughter, Sheila Ybarra and son-in-law Javier Ybarra, and daughter, Tawanna Irwin and son-in-law Kevin Irwin. Grandchildren, Marshall Jones, wife Brittany; Kenzie Johnson, husband Tim; Whitney McEwen, husband Josh McEwen; Courtney Arsenault, husband Stephan; and Ryan Love; Christian Ybarra, wife Kenzie; Lolly Ybarra; Layla Irwin and Ryder Irwin.
