Larry was born on August 29, 1948 in Garrett, Indiana to Albert and Kathryn Dunn and grew up with six siblings: David, Ruth, Joyce, Jane, Kathy, and Francis. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Notre Dame University in Indiana. He spent 40 years employed as a plant manager for Owens Corning at various locations including to Ohio, Chicago, California, and finally his beloved Texas. He spent seven years going back to Waterloo, Indiana every three months to care for his parents. After the passing of his wife Deborah, he became the only male to be accepted in the All Women’s Bunko Group. Many of the women there said that Larry helped them to heal.
The things he enjoyed were golf, golf, and more golf. He laughed when someone who wasn’t on his team missed a shot and loved winning money from Jim and Stan. All of his buddies laughed when Larry, known for his frugalness, had to pay the tab. Along with golf, another sport he loved was Football, especially his beloved football team the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
His love for his cat “Mad Max” must also be mentioned, who when he wasn’t being ornery, made Larry laugh.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife Deborah Gray, parents Albert and Kathryn Dunn, and brother David L Dunn.
Larry is survived by sisters Ruth Solomon (Matt), Joyce Rossillo (Chris), Jane Sweeney (Dan), and Kathy Muzingo (Robert); brother Francis Dunn (Linda); sister-in-law Susan (wife of deceased brother David), as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
