

Lori Gail Poi (Tetzlaff) passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2021 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Joseph, children Tyler Poi and Brittany Beck, their spouses Jansu Poi and Matthew Beck, grandson Cameron Poi, parents Donald and Linda Tetzlaff, sister Melinda Foley, and sister-in-law Deborah Szutenbach, as well as many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents-in-law Joseph and Barbara Poi.
She was born on March 2nd 1963 in South Bend, Indiana. She attended James Whitcomb Riley High School and Purdue University where she graduated in 1982 and 1986 respectively. At Purdue, Lori met her husband Joseph and they were married in 1987 at Gloria Dei Church in South Bend, Indiana. Their children were born in 1991 and 1993 in Walled Lake, Michigan where they lived for 18 years. In Michigan, Lori worked in education for Walled Lake Public Schools. She was very active in her kids lives and frequently could be found smiling at Baseball practice/games, dance class, cheerleading, and school events. In 2007 she moved with her family to Keller, Texas where she resided with her husband and family.
Lori loved vacationing with her family whether it be at a cabin in the woods or a beach. She loved driving around with her husband in their Mustang convertible with her dog Biscuit in her lap. She loved traveling across the world to New Zealand where Brittany lived for 3 years and napped in the world’s most beautiful places. She loved spending time with her grandson Cameron. Her many custom picture books of her grandson fill her home and the homes of her extended family and friends. A devout Christian, Lori was a regular at weekend church and her bible study groups. Lori was happiest bringing people together by organizing ladies luncheons for the neighborhood, bible studies, and gatherings for family and friends. Her love and support for everyone in her life shined in good times and bad. Lori loved nothing more than to help friends and family with a cooked meal, a listening ear, and a thoughtful gift.
A visitation with be held on Thursday October 28th, 2021 from 4:30pm to 8:00pm at J.E. Foust and Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX. The funeral service will be Friday October 29th, 2021 at 10:00AM at the funeral home with a lunch reception to follow.
