She graduated from Switz City High School. She married James Arthur Blanton on August 27, 1947. James preceded her in death on March 28, 2017. Marie worked at Indiana University at Kokomo. She was a member of Judson Road Christian Church of Kokomo, Indiana. She had a passion for gardening and playing the piano.
Cherishing her memory are four children, Roger Blanton, Pamela Powell, Barry Blanton and Larry Blanton; seven grandchildren, Curtis Blanton, Casey Blanton, Nathan Powell, Isaac Powell, Elizabeth Walter, David Powell and Nicholas Powell; brother David Landis of Linton, Indiana.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 10 , 2019 at Grapevine Cemetery.
Isaac Powell (grandson) officiated the graveside service.
