

She was the daughter of the late Thomas William Owens and Agnes Isabel Tibbetts. Mary graduated from Deering High school in Portland ME in 1943 and went on to graduate from Lassell Junior College in 1945 with an Associate in Science degree studying Home Economics. In 1948 she graduated from Nasson College with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mary Married Richard Francis Browning on January 1, 1960.
They were married for 54 years before Richard passed in 2014. Mary and Richard were foster parents to numerous children in the 1960’s. They permanently cared for five children Karen, Joseph, Darryl, Julie, and Janet. Mary was a home maker until 1975 when she started working for the New Hampshire Veterans Home. She worked there until 1988 when she retired. During the 1980’s the family hosted missionaries, Fresh Air Children from Inner-cities, and exchange students from around the world. Mary and Richard were very involved in their church. Mary had a beautiful soprano singing voice and enjoyed many years as part of the church choir. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting in her free time.
She is survived by her children, Karen Parks, Canton MA, Darryl Browning, Rose Hill KS, Julie Browning, Santiago Chile, Janet Bomboy and her Husband Michael Bomboy, Southlake TX. Grandchildren, Jason Parks, Angela Howard, Cherish Taylor, Joshua Motles, Briana Motles, Evan Bomboy, Daniel Motles, Hailey Browning, Carver Bomboy, Richard Browning, Genevieve Browning, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Mary will be laid to rest with her Husband at the Dallas-Fort National Cemetery.
