Patricia Fendrich Bartley

Patricia “Patti” Fendrich Bartley died February 5, 2016 in Lewisville, Texas. Patti was preceded in death by husband Burnett “Biff” Bartley III. Patti and Biff’s kind and gentle spirits will be carried on by their “Girls,” daughters Kristen and Brittany Bartley. Patti was born to Charles Welles and Roberta Fendrich, Jr. in Flushing, NY May 5, 1951. A thoughtful child and lover of animals, she spent her years growing up on Long Island and Princeton, NJ. She attended West Geauga High school in Chesterland, Ohio where she grew interested in the arts. To further pursue her artistic talents, she headed to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY and worked with pottery, painting, and crafting silver jewelry from her studio on campus. These years were also filled with fun and shenanigans: the New York winters prompted sledding on lunch trays swiped from the college dining hall. During this time Patti met Biff and spent many weekends hitching rides to and from Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Endlessly curious and imaginative, Patti found many outlets for her creativity through cooking, singing at church, and playing the piano. She focused much of her talent on designing and handcrafting jewelry for her businesses Tropicolor Designs and Divine Inspirations. As a devoted wife and mother, Patti built a vibrant, loving home filled with music, food, happy houseplants and menagerie of pets. Always up for activity and adventure, she spent many summers on family cross-country road trips, toting the girls to concerts, and enjoying the Texas outdoors. An early riser, she began every morning outside, a time she reserved for quiet reflection and writing amongst her flowers and pairs of cardinals that flocked to her yard. Patti strengthened her faith as a dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, TX where her lifelong spiritual journey and lasting, supportive friendships took root. Her energy and appreciation for life was contagious and she never ceased to find a way to be positive and grateful during the most trying of times. Patti’s life will continue to be celebrated by her daughters Kristen Welles and Brittany Graham Bartley; parents Charles Welles and Roberta Fendrich Jr.; siblings Kathleen Fendrich Addis, Charles Welles Fendrich III, Anne Fendrich Stevens; many nieces and nephews and friends. A service in her memory will be held at St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine, TX, March 5, 2016 at 10:30am with interment and lunch reception to follow.
