Toni Lee Hansen Ferrell, 65, of Roanoke, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She faced her journey with strength, grace, and an unwavering faith, and is now at peace.
Toni was born on August 18, 1960, in Big Spring, Texas, to Halvard and Lela Hansen. She grew up with a strong foundation of love, faith, and family that would shape the way she lived her life and loved others.
She was a proud graduate of Big Spring High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Angelo State University in 1994, followed by her Master’s in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Toni dedicated her life to helping others, spending her career as a deeply influential counselor. She retired from Northwest ISD in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of guidance, compassion, and impact on countless young lives. Her influence reached far beyond the classroom - she truly changed lives.
Toni was a woman who found joy in the simple, beautiful things. She loved to travel, spend time in her yard, and laugh with her close circle of friends - her “gal pals.” But above all, her greatest joy and proudest role was being a mom and “Nina.” Her love for her family was constant, selfless, and deeply felt.
She had a special gift for making things beautiful - whether it was decorating a space, nurturing relationships, or uplifting those around her. She loved flowers, shoes, and jewelry - but more than anything, she loved Jesus. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found peace and excitement in the promise of heaven, often talking about “decorating her mansion” one day.
Toni is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Ferrell; her children, Rodney Ferrell Jr. (Inna), Tiffany Salazar (Aron), and Justin Ferrell (Courtney); and her cherished grandchildren, Kristian Yeats, Erin Yeats, Brooklynn Ferrell, Kade Salazar, Kamryn Salazar, Ashton Ferrell, and Luca Ferrell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Kohen and Gemma Simer.
She is lovingly remembered by her sibling, Terry Hansen (Jan) and brother-in-law Brian Ferrell (Irma); her nieces, Michelle Olson (Charles) and Lynzi Rodriguez (Peyton); her nephew, Eric Hansen (Kinsey); and extended family and friends who meant so much to her.
Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Halvard and Lela Hansen.
To know Toni was to be drawn in by her warmth, her light, and her unmistakable inner and outer beauty. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her laughter, her encouragement, and her presence left a lasting imprint on everyone she met.
Toni’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and purpose. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the faith she carried so boldly.
