William Brian Dean, 60, passed away on November 11, 2022 in Grapevine, TX. William Brian Dean was born on February 25, 1962 to Paul and Donna Dean Valdosta, GA and later moved to Irving, TX. Billy, as he was known then, excelled in track and football. At MacArthur High School Billy was a star running back on the football field, scoring countless touchdowns and leading his team to victories. Bill grew up at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church where he played on the softball team. He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1980.
Bill attended Texas State University in San Marcos (formerly named Southwest Texas State University), where he enjoyed studying geology. Post college, he drove a semi-truck cross-country delivering goods. Bill earned his Airframe and Power Plant certification at Texas Aero Tech in Dallas. He moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and worked as an aircraft technician for Kallita Air in Ypsilanti Michigan. He then moved to upstate New York and worked at IBM in their semiconductor chip manufacturing center in Fishkill, making semiconductor chips for Apple Computer.
He and Rosalva (Rose) married in Maui, HI in October, 1996 with his parents, Paul and Donna present. In 1998 when returning to Texas, Bill joined Envoy Airlines (formerly American Eagle Airlines), as an aircraft technician and began a 28-year career until he went to be with our Heavenly Father. Bill was an outstanding and dedicated technician. He later advanced his career to become an avionics technician. He partnered well with all levels of employees, and he made long-lasting friendships with his Eagle and Envoy work family.
In January, 2003, Bill became a father to Brandon and then in 2005, a father to Brian. Bill was very devoted to his family. Bill cooked fabulous dinners and helped the boys with their homework. Bill enjoyed taking Brian to acting lessons and auditions in Dallas and Austin, taking the boys to football practice, and helping them with their boy scout activities, football, soccer, baseball and basketball skills. He and the boys also enjoyed playing video games and listening to music. The Dean family spent many vacations in California and Florida visiting family, and Bill would love to golf and fish on the family trips. Bill kept the Dean cars running for almost two decades, and he made almost every needed repair in the house.
Bill religiously played golf with his Dad almost every week, weather permitting. He was loyal to the Dallas Cowboys, and he also enjoyed watching Brandon and Brian play football at the Carroll Middle School and Carroll High School. He was gifted athletically: he had scored three hole-in-ones, had bowled almost a perfect score, and he earned a state track relay record. Before his sons were born, Bill was active at Grapevine First United Methodist Church music programs as a member of the adult choir and also a teacher with Rose for their Kindergarten Choir. After his sons were born, he regularly attended and actively participated in adult Sunday School. He and Rose enjoyed date nights attending many concerts, and recently, Bill accompanied Brian so that he could see his favorite band. He loved to go mountain biking, hiking and fishing. He often went to Lake Grapevine to watch sunsets.
Bill joins in Heaven his mother, Donna Dean and his grandmothers, Doris Hannah and Betty Hartin. Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Rosalva (Rose) Dean; his sons, Brandon Dean and Brian Dean; his Father, Paul Dean; his brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Kathy Dean, Michael and Lori Dean, and Jeff Dean; and his beloved nieces and nephew.
