Bill, like so many have been taken too soon. Sending my condolences to his family. It was sad to see this posted on the internet. Retired Police should live at least as many years after the amount of years put otj. Another person who was big part of 1000’s of Officers careers is gone, but never forgotten. RIP Sarge.

I was saddened to hear that Bill had passed away. He, and you, deserved to enjoy his life much longer after "The Job". I worked with Bill in the 16th district and enjoyed his company and was glad that he was there to backup the rest of us. He was a good man. I am very sorry for your loss.

I was deeply saddened when I heard the news about Bill. Bill was a hard working cop and never backed down from anything out on the street.
The sacrifices police officers make are not known to the public. But the fellow officers, friends and family live it firsthand.
You lived a great life, Bill, and I am so sorry it was cut short.
I am proud to have served with you.
God Bless you, Bill
God Bless your family.

My deepest condolences to the Vick family for your loss. I worked with Bill in Gangs and in the District as Patrolman. Bill was always an honest, upstanding guy who always made the right decision. Bill will always be remembered as one of the good guys to work with. Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him.......

So very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was one of my favorite sergeants in the 10th District and never missed an opportunity to share his sarcastic witticisms. Best of all he was a fellow guitarist and loved music. I was unaware of his battle with the big C, but that explains his infrequent posts on my Facebook page. My sincerest sympathy to Kim, the kids and the pups. Requiem aeternam. He will be missed.

Sarge, I had no idea you were sick. I wish I got the chance to tell you how much you meant to me as a young PO in 10. Thank you so much for all the work advice as well as the fatherly advice you’d give me from time to time. You will be missed.

Sgt Vick was tough. He was a hard worker and made sure you did your job. He was a gentle soul who helped you any way he could. I probably annoyed the crap out of him with all the questions. Blessed to have known him. I know he carries no pain. For those loved ones especially his family may they find their peace. Sending prayers 🙏🏽💙

I worked with Bill on the 015 district many years ago, he was a great officer and a true gentleman. We crossed paths again as Sergeants and it was always nice to see his smiling face. My condolences to Bill’s wife, children, grandchildren and 4 legged children. I will keep your family in my prayers.

I had the distinct honor and privilege of working for, and later with, Bill Vick on the Chicago Police Department. We still remember him and treasure the knowledge and friendship that he shared with us. I am deeply saddened at his all too early passing. He was a great boss and friend to all in the 010th District, where he worked for so many years. Thank you all for sharing the video tribute online, for those of us who were not able to get down to Texas for his funeral. It was very touching. I am sad for your loss, but hope you will treasure the honor of knowing Bill. I know I do.
Respectfully yours,
Sergeant Gerry Majerczyk #2201, 010th District, CPD

On 11 August 1986 I had the pleasure of meeting William (Bill).. This was at the Chicago Police Academy class of 86-5. I know when I met Bill I knew he would excel. Bill and I became friends and later worked together in Gangs North and later 016 Gang Team.. Those were some great times and great experiences I will never forget.. Bill was one of the best on the CPD. I'm honored to have know him and call him my friend and partner.. To the three children (Adults now) of Bill and Kim... William, Jr, Lynn and Tommy... Your father was a great man and one tough act to follow.. He was person of many things, mostly he is best described as a man of integrity, pride and guts. Your father always made the right choices.. I am sure you can recall a time in your life growing up when you thought he was to tough.. I am sure now you appreciate and understand his position during those days.. I hope you all have fond positive memories of your father as I do.. I am so sorry I can't be in Texas at this time..
My brother, God Bless You, I know you are in a better place.. I know when I go and if I see you I know I am in the right place.. Prayers for Kim, Bill, Lynn, Thomas and the extended Vick family of Grandchildren and Nephews.. Joe Agosta

So saddened to hear the news. Bill will always be a part of our hearts. Lew speaks often of his high school buddy and how Bill babysat his guitar for years. I was happy to meet him and share a few moments with Bill and Kim. We know he loved his family and know his memory will be kept alive with stories and how he has touched all of our lives.
