

His funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at O'Connor Memorial Chapel with entombment at Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday (today) from 6 to 8 p.m. at O'Connor Funeral Home.
Gary was born July 12, 1946, in Great Falls. He received his education attending Great Falls Catholic Schools for 17 years, beginning at St. Gerard's with kindergarten, followed by high school, graduating from Great Falls Central in 1964. Gary furthered his education, obtaining his bachelor's degree in English from the College of Great Falls, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1968. In a desire to expand his horizons, Gary obtained his Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in June, 1978, graduating with honors. As a youngster, Gary was a member of Den 11 with the Cub Scouts of America, earning some patches. While attending the College of Great Falls, he was a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Honor Society. Gary was also selected to appear in the 1967-68 edition of "Who's Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges." He was also a member of Eagles Aerie #14 for a number of years.
Gary married Wynne Ellen Arnold on December 14, 1974.
Gary had a varied and interesting work history. He began his employment after high school, working as a laborer for the city of Great Falls Street Dept. Gary also worked at Howard's Pizza, working in the backroom on pizza preparation. In 1978, following completion of his Master's Degree, he began working for the State of Montana, first as a Rehabilitation Counselor, then a Claims Adjuster and lastly, as a Loss Control Officer. Gary retired in the mid-1990s.
Gary and his wife, Wynne, throughout their courtship and marriage, enjoyed bicycling, walking, classic movies, reading and comic books.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, 2 months, and 12 days, Wynne E. (Arnold) Martin of Great Falls, sisters-in-law Sandy R. Arnold, Penney Solano, and Darla K. Arnold-Lay all of Great Falls, sisters-in-law Wanda J. Jorgenson and Laura Boudreaux of Florida, brothers-in-law William P. Arnold, Kelley D. Arnold and Ryan P. Arnold, all of Great Falls and brother-in-law Kevin S. Arnold of Wash. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph in 1998 and mother Elsie in 2000.
