
Corwin – Alvin died peacefully in Southampton, New York on May 26, 2022 at age 101. Al was predeceased by his adoring wife of 74 years, Elaine. He is survived by his three sons, Leslie (Jessie Bard), Glenn (Dr. Sheryl Brustein) and Steven; his grandchildren Noah (Carrie), Sarah and Jared; his great-grandsons, Judah and Ethan Corwin; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Al was a graduate of St. John’s University and was a Captain in the U.S. Army and Veteran of World War II, having received a Bronze Star for Valor during the Battle of the Bulge. Al ran six Displaced Persons Camps after the war and then translated his military service into promoting Jewish and Inter-Faith causes. He was a past President of National Temple Brotherhoods and the Jewish Chautauqua Society. Al spent most of his career on Wall Street. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Jewish Center of the Hamptons – 44 Woods Lane, East Hampton, New York. Interment is to follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Flushing, New York.
