Dolores is predeceased by her brothers Barton and Alden Wodlinger. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Susan Jacobs Berman and Ellen Jacobs Lehman and her four cherished grandchildren, Ryan Berman, Dr. Arielle Lehman, Kyle Berman, and Jocelyn Lehman.
Dolores was first runner up of Miss New Jersey and loved to sing. She attended the University of Miami before transferring to Temple University. She then met Jason Jacobs at Grossinger’s Resort, and they embarked on a life together.
In her younger years, Dolores was an avid swimmer and tennis player. As life evolved, she enjoyed her daily routine rotating between water aerobics, Pilates, weight training, Canasta, reading, and watching tennis.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She was always there to root for her grandchildren during ski races or tennis and squash tournaments. She was most proud of her daughters’ and grandchildren’s academic and professional accomplishments, and who they were as human beings.
As she aged, Dolores was admired at her gym for being over 90 and working out 6-7 days a week. She was avid about physical fitness and went to Kounovsky’s gym in New York City long before it was common for women to join gyms.
Dolores enjoyed her subscription to Round About Theater, the ballet, and Alvin Ailey. She was a determined person who never took no for an answer. In her quiet demeanor, she also advocated for others less fortunate.
Services will be held at Temple Beth-El of Great Neck, NY on December 21, 2025, at 11:00am. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
