Syril H. Frank

FRANK--Syril Harriet. Syril Harriet Frank (May 1, 1929 -- October 5, 2021) born in Brooklyn to Israel and Mina Kaplan. Lived a long and adventurous life: Brooklyn to Cuba, China to Australia, and many stops in between, not the least of which were Florence and Paris! Fashion Institute of Technology (1950's), Masters Degree in Art History from CUNY (1979). 1952 married Fred Goldhirsch, 1954 gave birth to Robert, second son Douglas in 1956. Syril passed away in the house that Fred built in 1954. Divorced in 1966 remarried in 1968 to Walter Frank until his passing in 2012. She loved art, sailing, skiing, travelling, the beach, and most of all her family and friends. She was a touchstone for so many sharing a remarkable zest for life. She is survived by children Robert and Douglas (Sharon) Goldhirsch, Grandson Rafael Goldhirsch, nephews David and Joel Simkins, and many cousins. Grandson Rafael (16) wrote: "She taught me so many priceless lessons of love, soul, . . . giving, gratitude, and living your best life. What it meant to be strong and brave. 'Say not in grief she is no more, but in thankfulness that she was'." A private service is planned.
