Alan 'Al' Ray Shidner

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Alan “Al” Ray Shidner. Al passed away January 8, 2015 at his home in Windsor, CO. Alan was born on October 18, 1951. Al is preceded in death by his parents Don and Carol and his brother David. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Shidner; sons, Kevin Shidner and wife Crystal, and Blaine Shidner; brother, Gary Shidner and wife, Lynette. Al was especially proud of his grandchildren; Jaidan, Kevin Shawn and Carson and step grandchildren; Chad, Andrew, Nicolas and Adam. They were the light of his life. The only thing better than having Al as a dad was seeing him as a Papa. Al also had a “taken under his wing” family. Shawn Malouff, Jesse Malouff and Donald Rheubottom.

He lived as a stubborn, take no nonsense man, and died the same way. Al believed in living each day to the fullest. No regrets. He loved with his whole heart. Al cherished his family, if you became close to Al you were his family, not merely a friend. His laugh was genuine and contagious. The memories that he leaves behind and the lessons in love, laughter and life will forever by treasured and live in the hearts of us all. Al loved tinkering with anything. He enjoyed sitting in his shop for hours talking to friends and fixing and making whatever. If we learn anything from the life and the loss of our loved one, it is to enjoy life, laugh often and love unconditionally.
