Albert Peterson, 95, passed away on October 25, 2014. He was born in Greenfield, Iowa, to Henry and Minnie Peterson. He moved with his family to Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School, where he was active in FFA. He lived in Greeley until July 2013, when he moved to Colorado Springs.
Albert farmed until 1946, when he joined the Heilman family poultry business. Later he worked as mill foreman for Everitt Lumber Company from 1966-1986. He was a master woodworker and loved making furniture and lazy susans for family and friends. He was passionate about baseball and football. He had a great sense of humor and treasured spending time with those he loved, especially over a good meal.
He was married to Virginia Heilman Peterson for 64 years, until her death in 2009. Albert was her number one fan throughout her long career of teaching school and piano lessons.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Colleen, of Colorado Springs.
Albert’s funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
