Andrea Weiss

ANDREA WEISS died in a tragic auto accident the evening of April 15th. Andrea was the daughter and best friend of Nancy Plimpton, the sister of Joshua Weiss, and the daughter of Arthur Weiss, the aunt of Rachel Weiss and the sister-in-law of Helen Madden-Weiss all of Denver Colorado, and the partner of Linda Thomas of Ft. Collins. Also left behind are scores of family, friends, co-workers and those touched by her spirit.

Andrea is beloved by the many who knew her well. She was a friend to all. A smile from Andrea could always brighten someone’s day and each of us whom Andrea has touched will hold tight to the memories left to us.

Born on March 28, 1976 at Rose Medical Center she was brought to her lifelong home on Downing Street where she eventually graduated from East High School before attending the University of Northern Colorado for several semesters. Andrea graduated from Metro State College with a degree in Criminal Justice. She was awarded a certificate as an interpreter in American Sign Language from Front Range Community College. Andrea worked for several years with a high school student in the Washington DC area. She was heard to state that it was “bad enough suffering through Chemistry once during her own schooling but to take it with her signing charge was more than any person should ever have to suffer.”

A celebration of Andrea’s life is planned for Saturday May 2nd from 5 to 10PM at the Space Gallery - 400 Santa Fe Drive, Denver Colorado 80204. Notification has been posted on Rachel Weiss’ Facebook page. Please RSVP to either Rachel Weiss [email protected] or [email protected]

Jessica Uphoff of Legacy Mutual, Andrea’s employer, has set up a GoFundMe Memorial for Andrea. The money will be donated to Rainbow Alley.
