Antonio Rodriguez

Antonio married Juana Hernandez on May 23, 1940 in Aldama, Gto., Mexico. They moved to Texas in 1945, settling in Las Rusias, Texas. The family moved to the Greeley area in 1957, living here since. He worked for several farmers in Weld County. He later worked for Great Western Sugar Factory in Eaton. He then worked for Flat Iron Paving Company for 15 years and retired in 1985.

Antonio was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and taking walks. He enjoyed watching baseball and All-Star Wrestling. He liked to sing and dance. Antonio was a very good pool player. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. He also liked to garden. He was a very hard worker. Above all was his love for his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very giving and ready to help those in need.

Antonio is survived by his wife, Juana of Greeley; seven daughters, Maria Luisa Rodriguez (Gabriel) of Irapuato, Gto., Mexico, Virginia Huerta (Jose) and Silvia Gonzalez (Adan) all of Greeley; Rosemary Ramirez (Anthony) of Commerce City, Yolanda Jorgensen (Kent) of Hurley, South Dakota, Janie Quiroz (Jose) of La Salle and Connie Lopez (Danny) of Greeley; four sons, Arturo Rodriguez (Sofia), Antonio Rodriguez, Jr., Joe Rodriguez (Louisa) and Manuel Rodriguez (Norma) all of Greeley; a sister, Martiliana Rodriguez of Mesa, Arizona; two brothers, Pablin Rodriguez of Mexico and Pedro Rodriguez (Ernestina) of Greeley; 41 Grandchildren; 60 Great-Grandchildren and 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, but had a special bond with his niece and nephew, Esperanza and Estevan.

Antonio was preceded in death by three sisters, Rufina, Maria and Jovita and two brothers, Benjamin and Savino.

Friends may visit 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
