Betty Luella Foreman

Betty & her husband Harry Foreman made their home in Buena Vista, CO for 33 years. Betty was the high school secretary for 20 years, retiring in 1986. Betty and Harry loved to travel, taking many trips around the state and often wintered in New Mexico. They also were avid “yard salers.”

Harry passed away in 1997 and in 2001 Betty moved to Loveland to be closer to her children. She became very involved in volunteer work. She spent 9 years at McKee Hospital as a volunteer and when the cancer center opened she was quick to volunteer there as well. She also gave of her time to the hospital gift shop, the community kitchen, House of Neighborly Services, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and MCR. She also stamped valentines for several years.

Betty loved being busy and helping others who were less fortunate. She was always quick to give hugs to anyone who needed it whether she knew them or not.

Betty also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and they will miss her warm heart, quick smile and loving arms. Betty will be most remembered for her positive outlook on life and even with her limited vision she saw only challenges, not roadblocks.

To know Betty was to love her.

“If anyone asks how I want to be remembered tell them that I dearly loved my family and I treasured my dear friends. I tried to treat everyone I met with kindness and a smile.”

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son, Wayne (Lyn) Hoeben of Longmont, daughter Diane (Bud) Powelson of Firestone, daughter Sue (Phil) Martindale of Guernsey, WY, daughter Deb (Jess) Mahon of Estes Park, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, friends Richard Geppinger of Allenspark, CO, Vivian York of Buena Vista, CO as well as many other close friends in Estes Park, Buena Vista and Loveland.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at First United Congregational Church, 800 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland.
