Betty J. Stroh of Ft. Collins died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Spring Creek Nursing Home. She was born on October 14, 1936 in Platteville, Colorado to Ora and Dulcie (Gilmore) Cain.
Betty grew up in Fort Lupton, where she graduated from high school. After graduating, she lived in the Ft. Lupton area until 1966 then moved to Greeley. She worked as an auto rebuilder for 11 years.
Betty married Hubert Stroh in Greeley in March, 1971 he died in May, 2010. They were active in the Greeley and Evans areas. They belonged to Dust Devils Camping Club and loved traveling in their RV, and camping and fishing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley and later joined a Baptist Church in Pahrump, Nevada.
Betty was a very strong, but very caring, she loved and cared for her family. She was an excellent cook and made the best fried chicken. She always made enough so everyone had plenty to eat. Betty was also an excellent seamstress.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Mike Hibbard of Loveland, Neil Stroh (Sherrie) of Brandon, Wisconsin, Keith Stroh (Lisa) of Chandler, Arizona, and Wade Stroh (Tracy) of Greeley; a sister, Peggy McElrath of Aurora; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; a son, Grant Stroh; 2 brothers, Gaylord Daum and Harold Daum.
Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
