

Betty Jane (Koby) Wallen-Wood, 74 of Greeley passed away at her home on October 26, 2017. Betty was born in Warren, OH, to Fred and Iva Koby. She attended and graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1960. She married John Wallen in 1960 and moved to Greeley shortly after. Her daughter Cindy was born in 1962. In 2003 Betty married Merle “Woody” Wood.
Betty has been an active member of her church for most of her adult life. She has always had a love for her church and her church work. She worked as a secretary at Hillside Baptist Church for 3 years, then at First Congregational Church for 11 years. She then went on to work with her husband Woody in his small construction business.
Betty has always loved cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing, but most of all family and friends. Her nickname was Betty Crocker.
Betty is survived by her husband, Merle “Woody” Wood; daughter, Cindy (David) Fry; granddaughter, Erin (Sean) Stengl; sister, Loretta Keeton; niece Penni Janny; great-nephews Logan and Kyle; nephew, Timothy Keeton; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Sara Wallen; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces, and great nephews; as well as her loyal companion, Milo P. Dog, and Woody’s family who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wallen; parents Iva and Fred Koby; and brothers-in-law, Richard and James Wallen.
A big thank you to the associates at TRU Hospice of Northern Colorado that helped her through her illness.
A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the West Greeley Baptist Church. Services will be held starting at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the West Greeley Baptist Church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
